Radio Candela Privacy Policy

1. Data controller

The App is developed and maintained by an independent developer:

2. Quick summary

• The App has no user accounts: no sign-up, name, email, or phone number is required to use it.
• The App does not access your device's location (GPS). It never requests that permission.
• Your favourites, alarms, listening history, saved songs, and settings are stored only on your device. They are never uploaded to any server.
• Anonymous usage statistics are collected via Firebase Analytics (Google), to understand which features are used and to detect issues.
• When you play a station, your device connects directly to that station's server, which is a third party unrelated to the App.

3. Data processed

3.1 Data that stays only on your device

The App stores the following locally, without sending it to any server and without the developer being able to access it:

• Stations marked as favourites and custom station lists.
• Configured alarms (time, days, and associated station).
• Listening history and saved songs.
• App preferences: language, light/dark theme, and last station played.

This data is completely removed when you uninstall the App or clear its data from the system settings.

3.2 Usage and diagnostic data (Firebase Analytics)

The App uses Google Firebase Analytics to obtain aggregated usage statistics. This service collects data such as:

• A randomly generated App installation identifier (not linked to your identity or your Google account).
• Device model, operating system version, language, and approximate country (derived from the IP address, not from GPS).
• In-app usage events: app opens, station playback, playback errors, search usage, favourites, alarms, history, and settings changes.

No data that could directly identify you is sent to Firebase. The text of your searches is not collected — only whether a search returned results or not.

3.3 Technical data from the connection

As with any Internet-connected app, the servers the App communicates with receive your IP address and basic technical connection data, which is inherent to how the Internet works. This applies to the services described in section 5.

5. Third-party services

To function, the App communicates with the following services, each with its own privacy policy:

The developer does not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising or any other purpose.

6. Permissions used by the App

The App does not request permissions for location, camera, microphone, contacts, SMS, or call log.

7. Data retention

• Local data: stays on your device until you delete it from the App, clear the app's data, or uninstall it.
• Firebase Analytics data: retained according to the periods configured in Firebase, up to a maximum of 14 months for event-level data.
• Contact emails: kept for as long as necessary to handle your enquiry.

8. Your rights

If you are located in the European Union, you have the right to access your data, rectify it, erase it, restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. You may also withdraw your consent at any time.

Since the App has no user accounts, the developer has no means of identifying you or linking statistical data to you. To exercise these rights over the data that is in your possession:

• Local data: you can delete it from the App's settings or by uninstalling it.
• Statistics: you can disable analytics data collection from the App's settings.

If you believe your data has not been processed correctly, you can file a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, AEPD) (aepd.es).

9. Minors

The App is not specifically directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided personal data, write to hola@oscargr.dev so it can be removed.

10. Security

The App's data is stored in the app's private space on your device, protected by the operating system. Communications with the services described take place over encrypted connections whenever the destination service supports it. Note that some radio stations broadcast over unencrypted (HTTP) connections, which is beyond the developer's control.

11. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the App or to applicable regulations. The date of the last update appears at the top of the document. Significant changes will be communicated within the App itself.
